A Compassionate Guide Through the Care Journey

Behind every dementia diagnosis is a person who deserves to be seen, valued, respected, and loved.

I'm Lisa, a Certified Dementia Practitioner serving East Texas with years of experience in hospice, caregiving, and senior care.

My work is built on one belief: education changes care, and compassionate care changes lives. I help families understand what's ahead so they can move forward with clarity instead of fear.

Married to my husband for 30 years, with two grown kids and the sweetest daughter-in-law

My faith is at the center of everything I do, and it shapes how I show up for every family I work with.

I'm a summer sunshine girl at heart. I love lake life, especially days spent out on the boat or floating in the pool.

I'm absolutely terrified of snakes, and I will not pretend otherwise if one shows up.

A Dr Pepper can fix just about any bad day, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

fun facts about me

let's work together
She was once the sweetest person I knew. She had a gentle spirit, a warm smile, and a way of making everyone around her feel loved. Then dementia entered our lives, and little by little, it began to steal pieces of the woman we knew.

She became confused. She cried without understanding why. She grew angry, fearful, and sometimes said hurtful things that didn’t sound like the grandmother who had always loved us so deeply. It was heartbreaking to watch.

But as difficult as it was to see her change, it was equally painful to watch my mother. The woman who had always been strong became exhausted. Every day was filled with uncertainty, frustration, and grief. Caring for someone with dementia isn’t just physically demanding—it slowly weighs on the heart.

I also remember watching caregivers who, despite their best intentions, sometimes became impatient because they didn’t fully understand the disease. In those moments, I realized that people living with dementia don’t need judgment. They need compassion. They need someone who sees the person behind the diagnosis.

That experience changed the direction of my life.

I knew I wanted to spend my life serving older adults and supporting the families who love them. I wanted to learn everything I could about dementia so I could help others navigate one of life’s most difficult journeys with knowledge, patience, and hope.

Today, as a Certified Dementia Practitioner working in hospice and caregiver services, every family I meet reminds me of my own. Every caregiver I teach is another opportunity to make someone’s journey a little easier. And every person living with dementia deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and unconditional love.

My grandmother may have forgotten many things, but she never forgot to change my life. Her journey became the beginning of my purpose, and her legacy lives on every time I have the privilege of helping another family feel seen, supported, and understood.
My approach is:

  • Rooted in personal experience, not just professional training
  • Focused on the person behind the diagnosis, not just the symptoms
  • Honest and clear, even when the conversation is hard
  • Grounded in education, so families feel equipped, not just comforted

Some people find their purpose in a classroom, a career, or by chance. I found mine while watching my grandmother slowly disappear.
